Tragic Death of 11-Year-Old Rape Victim in Gujarat

An 11-year-old girl from Gujarat’s Bharuch district, who was abducted and brutally raped, succumbed to her injuries after a week of medical treatment. The incident took place in an industrial area, and despite efforts to save her, she passed away at a government hospital.

Medical Battle and Injuries

The young victim endured severe internal injuries due to the heinous assault. Initially treated at the civil hospital in Ankleshwar, she was subsequently referred to SSG Hospital in Vadodara for advanced care. Dr. Hitendra Chauhan, Resident Medical Officer at SSG Hospital, reported, “The girl suffered a cardiac arrest around 2 pm, and though stabilized temporarily, she faced another cardiac arrest at 5:15 pm, leading to her death at 6:15 pm.”

Cause of Death

The girl’s condition notably worsened as sepsis, a life-threatening response to infection, severely impacted her body, resulting in organ failure and ultimately causing the cardiac arrests. Her battle for life ended tragically despite the hospital’s best efforts.

The Incident

The horrific crime occurred on December 16, when an industrial worker allegedly kidnapped the girl as she played near her home. He dragged her into nearby bushes, assaulted her, and then fled, leaving her grievously wounded.

Legal Action

Authorities arrested the 36-year-old accused, a native of Jharkhand, the day following the crime. The investigation is ongoing as police work to ensure justice for the young victim and her family.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, spotlighting the urgent need for improved child safety and protective measures. As the investigation continues, this case underscores the pressing issue of addressing such crimes and delivering swift justice.
