Revanth Reddy Warns Tollywood Stars on Pushpa 2 Stampede

Tollywood in Turmoil: Pushpa 2 Stampede Sparks Controversy

In the wake of the Pushpa 2 stampede incident, which tragically resulted in the death of a woman and injury to her son, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued a stern message to Tollywood actors. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for compromising law and order, Revanth Reddy stressed the role of celebrities in maintaining public safety during high-profile event crowds.

Key Message to Telugu Stars

During a crucial meeting held at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy addressed prominent figures from the Tollywood industry. The gathering included actors such as Nagarjuna, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, and others. The Chief Minister reiterated the crucial need to uphold law and order in public settings, conveying to the actors that they share responsibility for managing crowds when appearing publicly.

Revanth Reddy’s message was clear—celebrities should actively collaborate with law enforcement to prevent incidents akin to the Pushpa 2 stampede. Acknowledging their influence on large gatherings, he urged actors to work hand-in-hand with police officers to ensure public peace and safety.

Clampdown on Special Screenings

Reflecting on the tragic incident, Revanth Reddy has imposed a ban on benefit shows and special screenings. This decision came following allegations that bouncers associated with actor Allu Arjun contributed to the stampede by aggressively managing the crowds. In a notable move, Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning to private security personnel employed by actors, spotlighting the direct link between crowd management and public safety.

Legal Proceedings and Developments

Following the event, the local police registered a formal complaint against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management based on accusations from the deceased woman’s family. Highlighting the seriousness of the charges, Allu Arjun was named as accused number 11 in the case and was subsequently arrested on December 13. Despite being granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court, the legal scrutiny continues.

Continuing to cooperate with authorities, Allu Arjun appeared for interrogation on December 23. The interrogation aimed to clarify whether Arjun was informed about the lack of clearance for his theatre visit and if he was aware of the tragic incident that unfolded on December 4 during the Pushpa 2 premiere. These inquiries form a critical part of the ongoing investigation into the allegations raised by Revanth Reddy.

The Road Ahead

As the industry grapples with this unfortunate turn of events, the statements from Revanth Reddy underscore a crucial pivot towards more stringent safety measures and accountability in Tollywood. With public safety taking precedence, the collaborative efforts between actors and law enforcement could set a new precedent in the management of high-profile movie events.
